Another Place and Stephanie de Leng  E-mail
Stephanie de Leng is a photographer and photographed a naked girl flirting with an Antony Gormley statue on Crosby Beach, Liverpool. She created a calender around Another Place, only to found it banned by Waterstones and many other outlets in Liverpool including the Culture 08 Company because the girl was nude! Stephanie's claims "It was very playful and you can still see it on my website" The calender didn't make her a fortune, but most certainly put her on the map.

Stephanie de Leng was born in Atlanta, Georgia of Dutch parents, and raised in London. At the age of 18 she embarked on a decade-long rollercoaster ride as an international photo model before coming down to ground on the other side of the camera. This “hands on” apprenticeship helped shape Stephanie’s personal approach to portraiture.

The recipient of numerous photo accolades, including an award from “Women In Photography International” in 2004, and highly commended in “Merseyside Woman of the Year 2008”, Stephanie is the artist behind the controversial fine art calendar “Beauty and the Beach”. She is also a regular panellist on BBC Merseyside. Stephanie is married, has two boys, and has lived in Liverpool with her family for nearly twenty years.

“People in Liverpool” is her first book.
